Mission Prayer Request: International Christian Ministry for the Deaf, El Salvador

The International Christian Ministry for the Deaf is going through a time of transition. As the Director is leaving due to family difficulties, please pray that the Board of Directors listens to God’s wisdom in the decisions regarding location, personnel and finances they must make for the upcoming year. They ask that God will continue to guide them in serving the deaf children in both El Salvador and Guatemala; as well as continuing to be the center of their hearts, “the One who provides, the One who guides, the One who protects and fills us with love”. For more information, contact Susan Koester.

Christy is still working with her group in Palestine, particularly focusing on women’s health problems.  A successful medical mission trip last fall has opened some interesting options.  Please pray for continued progress in tackling the breast cancer “epidemic” in Palestine and that God will make it clear to Christy where and how He wants her to work for His kingdom.  Contact: Ann Johnson.

BARM Toy Drive Continues!

FPCC is again participating this Christmas in the Bay Area Rescue Mission Toy Drive. We will be helping needy children by providing gifts for BARM’s annual Christmas party for needy children. We will be collecting toys from our own congregation and also be serving as a collection point for the Concord community. Barrels for the toys are located in the Narthex and in the Fellowship Hall.  During the week gifts can be left at the church office. BARM expects to be handing out gifts to more than 3,000 youngsters, so our help is urgently needed. Gifts should be unwrapped and labelled for boy or girl, ages 8-12 or 13-18. Gifts can include toys, clothing, sports equipment, electronic devices, and notions. The gifts will be sorted and wrapped by the BARM staff. The drive will continue until Sunday, December 20. Contact: David Dowell.

If you’d like to participate, take an ornament tag from the tree and sign up to indicate your choice. Gifts and gift cards should be brought to the Fellowship Hall before or after church on December 4. Contact: Susan Lawson.
